About

me (2).jpg

I started Pixels + Crumbs in January 2013 as a way to share my passion for food photography and whole food recipes. What you will find here are recipes that use natural ingredients as fresh fruits and vegetables have a way of inspiring me - the colors, textures and taste never get boring. Capturing their beauty through photos brings me an unexpected joy.

I’m a graphic designer by profession, I lived in New York City for most of my life, with a couple of years in San Francisco and now reside in Portland, Oregon. My husband and I are glad to be here. This is a city that really embraces its food and its farms. There's so much to explore and share along this journey!

Thanks so much for visiting!

FAQ:

Do you work solo?

Yes, I’m a solo operation here, I cook the food, style the dish, take the photos, edit images, write the blog and manage the website as well.

Where do you get the recipes?

Sometimes I’m inspired by a dish at a restaurant, or maybe an “It’s-It” Ice cream sandwich and will attempt to reverse engineer it, but I get most of my recipes either from some truly amazing food bloggers online or from a variety of cookbooks. I try to stay seasonal for the freshest ingredients.

What camera equipment do you use?

Nikon D610 body

Nikon D90 body

Nikon 50mm f/1.8D lens

Nikon 105mm f/2.8 Macro lens

I use natural light pretty much all of the time with a couple of foamcore reflectors, on occasion I’ll use softbox lights

Do you do product reviews?

If I mention a brand or product in a recipe it’s either relevant to that dish or just something I happened to like. I’m an Amazon Affiliate so you may see links to Amazon when it’s appropriate.

Are you available for freelance work?

Absolutely. Please contact me via my contact form for any inquiries.

Can I use your photos?

If you wish to republish my photos and/or recipe online please contact me. All photos are copyrighted.
